Privacy Policy

Perfect Day Together is a tool for wedding planners and their couples. This page explains what information we collect when you use it, why, and what control you have over it. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.
What we collect
From a couple. The name each person enters (this can be a first name, a nickname, anything — we don't verify it), the category of the disagreement, each person's written position, any answers to clarifying questions, and the mediator style chosen for a final recommendation, if one is ever reached.
From a planner. An email address and a password (stored only as a scrambled/hashed value, never in plain text) to create and log into a planner account.
Collected automatically. Your IP address, briefly — used only to limit abuse (rate limiting) and to verify you're not a bot (Cloudflare Turnstile). A random, anonymous identifier stored in your browser (not a cookie tied to you personally, not shared across other sites) — used only to measure product usage in aggregate. This identifier is not linked to your name or any other personal detail.
What we do not collect. We don't ask for or store phone numbers, payment information, or precise location, from either a couple or a planner.
What a planner can and can't see
A planner's dashboard shows the category and current status of each conversation they created — waiting on the second person, reviewing alternatives, resolved — and nothing else. A planner never sees a couple's written positions, the alternatives suggested to them, or any resolution reached. That separation is intentional: the point is to help a couple work things out privately, not to give their planner one more thing to referee.
How we use it
- To generate the mediation itself — a couple's positions are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to produce clarifying questions, alternatives, and (only if requested) a final recommendation.
- To screen submissions before they're mediated — a fast automated check looks for content indicating abuse, threats, or a safety risk, and routes those away from mediation instead of generating a response.
- To generate the public, anonymized recommendation page, if a couple chooses to create and share one. That page never includes names or original wording.
- To keep the service running and measure it in aggregate — rate limiting to stop abuse, and basic usage statistics (never sold, never shared with advertisers).
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information, and we don't share conversation content with anyone beyond what's needed to run the service. That includes a small number of infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf:
- Anthropic — processes the text of a conversation to generate the mediation and to screen for serious content.
- Supabase — hosts the database where conversation and planner-account data is stored.
- Upstash — stores your IP address briefly, only to enforce rate limits.
- Cloudflare — verifies you're not a bot when starting a conversation.
- Railway — hosts the application itself.
How long we keep it, and deleting your conversation
Conversations are automatically deleted 90 days after creation. You don't have to wait — either party can permanently delete a conversation immediately using the "Delete this conversation" button on the conversation page. Deletion is immediate and can't be undone.
Your choices
- Delete anytime — see above.
- Keep it Cool — an opt-in mode that limits what the other party sees to a calm, neutral summary rather than exact words.
- Questions about your data — email [email protected] (placeholder until this app has its own domain).
A word on sensitive information
Please don't put anything into a conversation that you wouldn't want the other party, or anyone with your link, to see — full financial account numbers, government ID numbers, or similarly sensitive details have no reason to be in a wedding-planning conversation and we'd rather you left them out.
Children
Perfect Day Together isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Security
A couple's access to a conversation is controlled by a long, random, per-person link rather than a password — we store only a scrambled (hashed) version of it, never the link itself. A planner's password is likewise stored only as a hashed value. All traffic to the site is encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute protection against every possible attack.
